Located between two metropolitan cities of Turkey, Istanbul and Ankara, Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University was founded on July 3 in 1992 and is one of the most distinguished universities in Turkey. Our university, which has been developing rapidly since the date, has campuses in Bolu city center and its three districts (Gerede, Mengen, Mudurnu).

In addition to those state and foundation universities in our country, Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University forms a third model as a foundation supported public university.

The university, which prioritizes scientific production of an international nature, takes care to consider national and international needs in the education and teaching process. While our university is preparing an internationally competitive research environment that follows scientific developments and technologies, it constantly renews itself to ensure that its students make the best use of this environment. In this way, Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University has made a great process since the day it was founded and has since become one of Turkey's fastest-growing universities. As of today, the university currently has 16 faculties, 1 Graduate Education Institute, 2 schools, 8 vocational schools, and 15 application and research centers. With 1278 academic staff and 784 administrative staff working in these units of our university, it is proud to offer a quality and modern educational environment to approximately 25,000 students.

Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University is a university that prioritizes scientific research, follows international scientific developments, aims to research current social problems, and produce science for results. In this context, it carries out important works through its institutes that offer undergraduate and graduate education, as well as through its application and research centers.As a matter of fact, in coordination with the departments of Sociology, Psychology, Psychiatry, and Special education (mentally handicapped), it has started to give priority to social researches related to social problems for a long time and has made significant progress in this way.
